This online course explores the care of patients with behavioral health needs in primary healthcare and behavioral health treatment settings. Overview of mental health and substance use disorders are presented. Topics include adverse childhood experiences, trauma informed care, healing centered engagement, legal and ethical issues, cultural considerations, and techniques of de-escalation.
