Learn about local freshwater stream ecosystems and the wealth of life they support! Come explore the banks and shallows of Whatcom Creek as we look for aquatic invertebrates, fish, birds, and other living things that call this place home. Bring a notebook and weather-appropriate clothing. Rubber boots for wading are optional (there's no need to get wet if you don't want to). Class meets at the intersection of the Whatcom Greenway Trail and Meador Ave., close to the Meador Ave. and King St. intersection.
In-person classes will adhere to required safety protocols and are subject to change based on current recommendations from local and state health officials.
Notes:
Bring a notebook and weather-appropriate clothing. Rubber boots for wading are optional (there's no need to get wet if you don't want to). Class meets at the intersection of the Whatcom Greenway Trail and Meador Ave., close to the Meador Ave. and King St. intersection. Participants are required to wear a face covering in compliance with the State of Washington mandate. Participants will need to supply their own face covering/mask. Participants must follow the instructor's directions regarding physical distancing, face coverings, and other safety procedures for the duration of class.
