When we step outside our usual surroundings and routines, we can see things freshly, as if for the first time. In this workshop, we'll consider how other poets have recorded their travel experiences and work on exploring our own travel narratives in a variety of poetic styles and approaches. Barbara Bloom has an MA in creative writing from San Francisco State University and has taught creative writing for over 30 years. She has published two books of poetry with a third due out this year. Class size is limited--register early!

Barbara Bloom

Barbara Bloom has been writing seriously since her twenties and loves to share her excitement about writing with others and encourage them in their own writing journeys. She earned a Master’s in English and Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and taught English and Creative Writing at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California for many years before retiring in Bellingham in 2016. She has published two books of poetry—On the Water Meridian and Pulling Down the Heavens, with a third book in the works.
