Checkmate Quest: Adventures in Chess (ages 7-10)

Do you like to solve puzzles or play games that require creativity and strategic thinking? Then come learn how to play the ultimate strategy game, chess! We'll go over how the pieces move; strategy and tactics; how to record and learn from your games; how to make computer chess work for you; and how, where, and why to play in tournaments. And, of course, we'll spend plenty of time playing the game and learning from each other. Prerequisite: must know or learn how the six pieces move before class begins. Section A designed for ages 11-14; Section B designed for ages 7-10.
