Launch and Build Your Business

Join like-minded new business developers in this exciting program and find your pathway to business success! This program is intended for people just starting a business or those needing additional help and resources along the way. Course provides live workshops combined with access to self-paced online content and Business Plan Pro's LivePlan to help participants build contacts, skills, and gain access to local resources and expertise. Local small business resource experts Jennifer Shelton of WWU's Small Business Development Center and Lara Merriam-Smith of the NW Innovation Resource Center will lead the interactive workshops that include roundtable discussions and interviews with local successful entrepreneurs. A light lunch and beverages will be provided. Registration fee includes one textbook and two eBooks (provided at first class) and enrollment in Palo Alto Software's Start, Run & Grow Your Business online curriculum based on Tim Berry's long-running course at the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business.

Starting a New Business?

  • Build a business plan for growth and network with other business owners
  • Learn or review basics of running a business
  • Write a complete business plan in LivePlan
  • Network with local business owners and professionals

Registration fee includes:

  • Enrollment in Palo Alto Software's Start, Run & Grow Your Business Curriculum 
  • Six weekly roundtables, including interviews with local successful entrepreneurs
  • Six-month subscription to Business Plan Pro's LivePlan to write your business plan
  • One textbook and two eBooks: The Art of the Start, The Business Startup Kit, The Plan as You Go Business Plan
  • Approved SEAP students receive six months access to personalized technical business counseling.*

This program is approved for the Employment Security's Self-Employment Assistance Program (SEAP)! WCC is a SEAP Provider for this program. SEAP is a unique opportunity for qualified students to pursue self-employment entrepreneurial training and receive business counseling while collecting unemployment benefits.
