Haibun is a Japanese literary form combining prose and short poems, often as autobiography or travel and nature reflections. We'll explore, then play with, stretch, or break the classical structure. We'll build up to our own haibun by writing short, lyrical prose and poems, including contemporary haiku and unstructured pieces. Come ready to explore this flexible and satisfying genre-bending form. Beginners are welcome! Shoshana Kerewsky, a retired teacher and counselor, has published widely and has led numerous writing workshops and classes.
