In this course, we'll consider, discuss, and creatively explore the following principles and how they may relate to our craft: I.) play is our starting point (and the foundation of the universe); 2.) writing is situational and has rules; and 3.) there is only (un)interesting and (in)effective writing. Through these core ideas we will endeavor to be joyous and bold in our work, but also thoughtful of our chosen genres, and intentional in how we subvert them. Grace Schutte has an MFA in Creative Writing from WWU and spent three years teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Center for Writing Excellence.
