This class is dedicated to the proposition that poetry can be funny, playful, and serve a serious purpose all at the same time. When Emily Dickinson wrote "Tell the whole truth, but tell it slant," was that another way of saying "leave 'em laughing"? We'll write, read and discuss poetry that is subversive, goofy, ironic, surreal, and bleakly comical. Come prepared to write and laugh. Kevin Murphy is the resident poet on the Chuckanut Radio Hour and has been writing and performing poetry for over 40 years.
