Join us for a walk around Tenant Lake to view and discuss identification, ecology, and behavior of a variety of Whatcom County birds during late spring--wood warblers, flycatchers, and other neotropical migrants. We will cover the phenomenon of migration, nesting behavior, and biology, as well as butterfly, dragonfly, and damselfly identification. Instructor Chris Byrd is a passionate birder with 25 years of experience identifying birds in the Pacific Northwest and has an MS in Environmental Studies/Conservation Biology. Bring your binoculars, field guide, and water bottle; dress for the weather, including appropriate footwear. Class will meet in the parking lot of the Tennant Lake Interpretive Center.
