Camp Peacewriters (ages 7-12) (virtual classroom)

Calling all peace-builders and poets! Learn how to make the world a more peaceful place by using words to affect hearts and minds. We'll explore various poetic forms, including everyday devices like lists, letters, and lyrics. Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center Youth Specialist Marissa Collins will lead the class in understanding peaceful conflict resolutions, and poet Elizabeth Vignali will show how poets from Tupac to Mary Oliver have used art to promote peaceful resolutions. Come away from Camp Peacewriters with a fistful of poems and a hopeful heart! Designed for ages 7-12.
