Writing about nature using formal poetry and translating our experiences in nature to words on the page can lead to new and surprising discoveries. In this class, we'll employ established and contemporary poetic forms, like the pantoum or the golden shovel, to explore beauty in nature and the complicated ecological issues we face. Jessica Gigot lives on a little sheep farm in the Skagit Valley. Her second book of poems, Feeding Hour,/i>, was a finalist for the 2021 Washington State Book Award.
