Escape the PNW winter for a fascinating evening exploring tropical botany with Chris Byrd as your guide! This introductory lecture will cover topics essential to understanding Neotropical lowland forests, including tropical climate, vegetation patterns, forest dynamics, biogeochemical cycles, Neotropical species diversity, and key biotic patterns such as symbiosis, pollinator-plant coevolution, predation, and competition. Instructor Chris Byrd has an MS in Environmental Studies/Conservation Biology.
