Getting Started with Poetry: A Craft and Writing Workshop with Barbara Bloom

If you're ready to try your hand at writing and crafting poems, this workshop is for you! We'll start with generating different types of poems, using fun and accessible prompts and lots of great examples to give you inspiration for your own writing. Then we'll look closely at the elements of writing poems--word choice, imagery, similes, metaphors, line length, and voice. Bring your notebook, pen, and your imagination! Barbara Bloom has an MA in creative writing from San Francisco State University and has taught creative writing for over 30 years. She has published three books of poetry, most recently, Missing Orion. Class size is limited--register early!
