Develop fluency in the language of film and learn how visual components enrich story. With a career in film production, television, and three Emmys, Lisa Spicer enjoys teaching about artistic methods of visual storytelling, including mise-en-scene, a technique to convey meaning such as emotion, tension, or foreshadowing. Learning how filmmakers communicate visually is a wonderful skill for writers and cinephiles. Class includes film clips and class discussion about using these techniques in your story.
